Raine’s 2012 Year-End Review!

by: Raine

This year was really a wild ride. It was my second full year as a k-drama watcher and my first full year blogging. Phew. Did 2012 go by as quickly for you as it did for me?

Some of it I loved, and some of it left  me lukewarm. There were a few dramas I really wish I could obliterate from my memory. But the good ones made up for it, ’cause there were some GOOD dramas.

The reviews will be highly biased and highly noninclusive. It’s about what I remembered at the end of the year 2012. How did these shows impact me? Am I still salivating? Or did I forget it existed until I had to write this thing?

Big: Episode 4 Recap

by: Raine

BIG keeps getting better. I was so emotionally invested in the episode that when it ended, I didn’t know what to do with myself, so I watched it again. It has so much soul and I didn’t even think about the conventional tropes used until I wrote the recap. Nothing stood out as cheesy. It just flowed. Bravo Hong Sisters. My heart is hanging on the line until next week.

Ratings dropped to 7.9% but they don’t reflect the awesomness of this episode. (AGB Nielson National).

Big: Episode 3 Recap

by: Raine

Episode 3! Hoorah! I was expecting way  more hilarity than I got, but surprisingly, I’m not disappointed. Suzy delivered some deadpan cuteness (her best dish) and we got some insight into Yoon-jae, who I was pulling for! (I’m not going to mention my love for Hottie McJail Bait.) This episode was still full of a lot of plot set-up, but Da-ran and Kyung-big (Kyung-joon in Yoon-jae’s body) certainly provide enough character growth and body-swapping antics to entertain me for hours on end!

This episode scooched up a percentage point to 8.4% (AGB Nielson National), probably because of the appearance of cute little miss Suzy.

BIG makes me happy.

Big: Episode 2 Recap

by: Raine

And the fun has really begun with episode 2, which dropped a bit to 7.4% (AGB Nielson National). BIG served up a pinch of mystery, a dash of angst and a whole lot of laugh-out-loud antics. We can’t forget a cup of sex humor and a vat of social commentary. It took a turn that I didn’t expect, which really makes me want episode 3, like, now.

Big: Episode 1 Recap

by: Raine

Here it is folks, coming in at 7.9% (AGB Nielson National), BIG! It lived up to my expectations. Fine acting, gorgeous cinematography, witty dialogue and I’m already invested in the characters and the story. Not to mention, nekkid Gong Yoo for 10 minutes. *angels sing*

Warning: I will be traveling for two and a half weeks from June 21 to July 11. This means I won’t be current with about six or seven episodes. I’ll catch up when I’m back, but I just wanted to let ya’ll know. Then, I’ll be back in full force so you better get ready! Continue reading
